Upon Hezekiah's death, his widow and heirs moved to Lockport, NY. The property was then owned by Sally Bennett until it was aquired by Sheldon Brownson and his eldest son, Henry I. in 1866. When Henry's son, Harry Brownson married Gertrude Buckingham on October 5, 1904, they set up housekeeping in the family's homestead.

This is how the landscape of Huntington Center looked at the turn of the 20th century. Looking north on what is now Shelton Avenue (Route 108); the Brownson House is in the middle right of the photograph, where Webster Bank now stands. Note the variety of fence styles.

Note the front porch, shuttered windows, and dark trim on the house. Photograph taken in August 1912.

The house was moved to its present site on Ripton Road in 1971.
