At the Annual Meeting of the Shelton Historical Society, author Thomas J. Craughwell will discuss his book, The Greatest Brigade: How the Irish Brigade Cleared the Way to Victory in the American Civil War. According to Mr. Craughwell, the Irish Brigade scared the English out of the war with threats of violence at home, played a key role in all of the major battles and may have lost the most soldiers of any brigade. Books will be available for sale.
